Living my best Indiana Jones life...

...Is something I've been saying to my friend lately while working in Bet Shearim. Mostly because of my taking photos in caves that are not often explored, so they have bees, beetles, spiders, rats, and everyone keeps telling me to watch for snakes... it's pretty creepy! It gets in my head sometimes but I still love it! Finding the inscriptions and getting to explore makes it worth it. Now I have moved on the other side of the site, and I can't take photos there alone, so I won't be able to have as many days and the program will be over soon! But I am enjoying the time I have there.

This cave was cool because it was long and narrow with high burial places!
There is a circular etching on this green wall.

One of the doors, which is not connected but leaned against a burial place in the tomb.

More circular etchings.

A Greek inscription.

Since my last post we had a spring break; I went to Tel Aviv a couple times as well as visiting the Haifa zoo and Akko, which is not too far from Haifa. I was able to go to an archaeology conference at Tel Aviv University, as well as working on editing photos (because I'm always behind, considering that I'm taking thousands of photos)!

In more recent developments...my family finally arrived in Israel! I met them in Yafo last weekend and we enjoyed time there and a visit to tel Afeq (which doubled as an excuse for me to take more photos for work) before they drove me back to Haifa and visited the beach here. They are currently traveling on a tour, and I am in Haifa until I meet up with them to travel with their tour for the weekend.
